Wild Weekend!

I wrote this on Tuesday, but blogger was having problems uploading pictures, so when I say yesterday I mean Monday. One other thing, is it really Thursday already, this thing is taking the whole week to post. Oh well it was quite the weekend......enjoy!!!!

We had quite the weekend. It started on Friday, Izac, Alex, my sister Kylee, and her little babe Auri, and I went to Thanksgiving point. We went to farm country, and of course Izac could have stayed all day. He fed and petted horses, donkeys, and goats, and we went on a hay (wagon ride) which comes with the ticket, which is a bonus. This place is great, they have machines with feed in them to buy and feed the animals. When we were on our way out, a guy who was giving the animals hay, came out with a baby goat and let us pet him, he was so cute and soft. We went down to Thanksgiving Point to meet my mom, Grandma, and sister Krista who were coming from St. George, we were going to go to the tulip festival, but by the time they got there we decided not to go, because it was too expensive, and required alot of walking. So we went to Ikea instead, since we were down that way. Izac and I got mac & cheese and hung out in the cafeteria, while all the rest of the gang shopped (we had been there recently so didn't need much from Ikea). Izac loves the touch screen computer games they have there for kids, so he did that for a long time after his food. Then we caught up with the rest of the fam and had ice cream at the end.

The next day Justin took Izac skiing for his first time, and unfortunately last time for this year. The video is pretty funny, you have to listen to what he is saying! Izac loved it and did really well. It makes Justin so happy because he is such a skier!! I had to work and my mom was still here so she watched Alex. After work I met up with the girls and we went shopping.

Sunday we went to church, and then up to Park City to John and Carol's for dinner, and to see and play with our cousins. Izac loves his cousins so much, and loves to play with them.

Yesterday I woke up and was sick. I don't know if it was something I ate or what, but it came and went, but I felt yuck all day. While I was thinking I was sure I was gonna die, Izac came up with a project, that actually worked out quite well. The toy basket's were out for Alex to sit by the couch by me and play. Izac came up and brought the basket's from downstairs out of our entertainment center. About an hour later, a roll of tape, a couple of random empty boxes and things, and a great imagination, he had built a train.

I guess it just looks like a pile of junk, but the basket with the water bottle turned upside down on it is the front of the train, the water bottle is the smoke stack, and the puppy is in the next car which is the box. He also was pretending that the green wipes case was his computer. You can't tell from the picture, but there was tape from each basket and box, to make the train. For some reason the blanket is also a part of the train and it's where I had to sit. He also made me cut the flaps off the box, and they are taped on for the wheels, and there's a tupperware lid taped on the inside for the steering wheel. Isn't his uniform great? His coat, jammies, sunglasses, and garden gloves. Oh my this little man's imagination is so fun and sometimes incredible!

Yummy Lunch

Little Alex is 8 months, it's so crazy, it's happening way too fast! It's almost Izac's 4th birthday, I can't believe I started this job almost 4 years ago. I love nothing more than being a mom, look at the reward!!!

Yesterday Justin had a dentist appointment, and came home early to go to it. He wanted to eat before he went, but neither of us could decide what we wanted. So he surprised me and brought home two of our favorite sushi rolls from Koyo (33rd S 23rd E), called the Koyo roll. What a yummy lunch!!! What a great husband!!!

For the rundown of these pictures see the post below it. I am having trouble remembering how to put (add) a slideshow on a page, can anyone help me?

Easter Weekend in St George

We had super great Easter Weekend. First of all we bought a new car last Tuesday, a decision that was 2 years in the making. It was so fun to go in a new vehicle. Unfortunately we don't have any pictures of it yet, but we got a Honda Pilot.

We traveled to St. George on Thursday, stopping in Cedar City on the way to visit Grandma Lunt.

Friday we went to Zion, and had so much fun. It was warm, with a cool breeze, perfect for hiking. We had a picnic in our car. Then Izac and Justin hiked to The Emerald pools, while Alex and I poked around in Springdale, while waiting for my Mom, Dad, and sisters to come up and meet us. After they got there and Izac and Justin finished their hike, we all went up and did the Overlook trail. It was so beautiful (and a little scary), Izac was a trooper, and didn't have too much trouble until the last 5 minutes of the hike. Then we went into Sprindale and ate at the Pizza and Noodle Co. While waiting to eat, Izac, And Justin went down the road a little ways to see some elk and buffalo that were there in a fence to see.

Saturday we got up and packed a picnic and we were off again. We went to New Harmony, the little town my Grandma grew up in, and had a picnic on my Great Grandparents front lawn. There are horses everywhere, so we went for a walk, fed horses, & played. There was a chilly breeze we weren't prepared for, but still had a great time. After getting back to St. George, Justin, Izac and I went to the movie, for a date witout Alex, and saw Horton Hears a Who.

Sunday we went to church with Gma and Gpa. We got home and played outside, went for a walk, and had dinner. Then Grandma had an egg hunt, with candy and treasures. Kurt was there and brought their plasma car so we played outside until it was dark.

Monday we packed up and headed home. It was a great and fun filled weekend. The best part was all the sunshine, and of course being with family!!! What a great time!!!!

Some fun we've been having!

These pictures were taken on my sweet baby Alex's 7 month birthday (March 7). He is the best baby, so happy and easy going. Thank goodness, his big brother gives me a run for my money. I just love his smile, his grin is from ear to ear!!!

So my mom and sister Krista came up at the beginning of to week to spend some time with us as for a part of their spring break. Izac discovered the Cowboy Grub last week, when I took him there with my aunt Shan for luch. So he told my mom we had to eat at Cowboy Grub. The fun is that they have this little room just off the waiting area that has a mechanical horse and one of those old Kmart horse-merry-go rounds. The glorious thing is you don't even have to pay to ride you just swithch a switch on the wall and ride away. Izac talked Krista into going for a ride too. What a place for a boy who loves horses!!! I totally want to rent this room for his birthday party, they don't really do that, but my cousin Daniel is a manager there and is going to find out for me if we can. i can't get the video of Izac to load so it'll have to wait until some other time.

Finally some pictures!

Sorry nothing too exciting yet. We haven't been out too much, it's too cold and the air quality is always so bad this time of year. We can't wait for sunshine and blue skies!!!

The first pics are just a few of Alex's sixth month, as you can see he's a great sitter, we started practicing, and the next day he was sitting on his own. He's also eating food quite well, and has liked most everything so far. He also sprouted a lot more hair, I love putting it in a mowhawk. I just love this age, he's just so cute, and such a happy smily guy!!!

The second pic is of a field trip we took with Izac's preschool, to the Living Planet Aquarium. We actually bought an annual pass there a couple of months ago and we go there about every other week.

Finally!!!

We got a new camera yesterday, I am so excited, I might actually post more often now. I have to get it set up on the computer before I can post pictures, and I need to take some pics worth posting too. Anyway I'm just so excited, and have some catching up to do. So stay tuned!!!

Izac information

Izac just informed me that he wants to turn into a baby horse

and not turn back into a kid.

And that I'm going to cry about it.

Good Luck Izac!!!

Camera still broken!!!

So our camera is still broken, and we are trying to decide if we should get it fixed or just buy a new one. I'm sick of the facts about me being the first thing on the page, so here is some of Izac's photography. There are explanations at the botom of the page.

As I was looking through his file, I really wish I could post a sequence of things he's taken pictures of, but I chose a few of his best ones. The first one is of the TV obvoiusly, but I think he took pictures during the whole show. The second one is of his Grandpa, Mike Van Dorn's feet, not him, just his feet. Then the one of my brother and sister, and my sister's husband is pretty fun. The last one is of a dinasaur pootfrint (Izac's dislexia wordage), at the dinosaur museum in St. George.

6 (hopefully) interesting facts about me

So I have had a lot of people tagging me and it's so hard to come up with things about myself. So I finally found the list I had been wiritng down, here it goes.

6 interesting facts about me:

1. I love office supplies. Mainly paper and pens. I think I got this fettish from my dad. Although I don't carry them around in the collar of my shirt like he does. I don't really love fancy pens either, I just love to have a varitey of them.

2. I've recently become addicted to Pepsi and sugar. I know bad!!!!!!!!! I think it's because when I was pregnant I couldn't eat them bacause they made me sick. So I'm just making up for that.

3. I can (could) walk on my toes. For those of you who have seen this it usually grosses people out. I curl my toes under and walk on them. I can't really do it anymore, my toes don't like the weight. I also have lovely bunnions from it, so I try not to amuse people anymore.

4. I love purses. If you know me, you probably know that. I also love to be prepared with all the things I can put in them.

5. I am not artisticly creative. I just copy other peoples ideas. I also don't have a passion, just alot of little hobbies, that amount to nothing significant.

6. I have been searched and rescued. I went hiking with some friends, it got dark and we got lost. That's the really short version of the story. It wasn't really official. One of the kids I was with's dad was really into scouts, so he had done this hike many times, and knew the hike that we were on. His best friend also happened to be on the search and rescue team for that area, and so he brought him along. So darn it we didn't make the news or anything exciting like that.

I think I'm pretty boring, maybe I'll come up with something exciting some day, and change this list up.

Alex's first food

Alex had his first rice cereal a few nights ago, on the 7th to be exact, his 5 month mark. He did really well. I could have guessed that he would since he's never had a problem with eating. I just can't believe he's almost 6 months where did the time go?
So a really bad thing happened. I was taking pictures the other day and our camera froze up. We are hoping it's the battery. I guess we take a lot of pictures. So I guess thats the reason for the lack of blogging. We had to take these with our old camera, which is now Izac's camera. Speaking of which, he loves it. I'll have to post some of the pictures he's taken some time, he's actually getting the hang of it and isn't too bad!

Christmas slide show

We had a wonderful Christmas, and time in sunny St.George. We were able to stop and see Great Grandpa Van Dorn in Orem on our way down. Then we spent 6 days in St. George with G-ma and G-pa Smith, and enjoyed all the family and sun down there. On our way home we stopped in Cedar City and went to my Aunt Linda's farm. Wow what a good time. New Years was great too, it's too bad we didn't get pictures of that spread. Our good friends Brandon and Bekah Rauen came over and we made crab legs and shrimp, then watched Transformers. It was fun and relaxing. Thanks to all for helping us make this season a great one. Happy 2008!

Merry Christmas from the Van Dorns!

These are a few pictures taken for our Christmas card. My sister Kylee took them with her new great camera.

December 18, 2007

I have not posted for a while due to the not fun we have been having. I feel like I'm way behind. It seems like we have been sick forever. We keep getting over it and just when I think we're over it something hits again. Dec 3 I took the boys to the Doctor and they both had ear infections. It was Izac's first that we know of, and his second antibiotic ever, so that's not too bad. Needless to say that's why I havent posted for a long time. Nothing fun to post! So here are a few pictures of the time that has passed.

These are pictures of the first big snow. Izac was sick, but insisted Justin take him out in the backpack (which he's way to big for), to look for snow animals. Then he just couldn't quit looking out the window at it.

We discovered the boppy. Alex loves it. He can sit up and see the world and he's getting real good at holding things and putting things in his mouth. He loves to suck on his hands.

There's nothing better than hanging out with Dad.
Izac didn't want to sit on Santa's lap at our ward party. So I did what all mean moms do. I went in when no one was there with Santa, and sat him on his lap. As you can tell Izac didn't like it too much.

Happy Thanksgiving, and New Crib

Alex loves his new crib, this is the first time we put him in it.

We've had a great Thanksgiving weekend so far, and hope that all of you have too!

We are so excited, we finally got a crib! We actually ordered this same crib in a different color before Alex was born, but when it came I was eating a nectarine, and the crib looked like the flesh of the nectarine. I just couldn't stand it, it was so orange-ish. plus that it had a small crack in it, so we sent it back. We knew that this crib came in another color, but everwhere we looked it was out of stock, so Justin finally found it the other day and we ordered it. It came much earlier than expected, so it's all set up, and we finally got to put the new bedding on. I'm just so excited, I love it so much. And Izac can't wait to have Alex sleep in his room. (I don't think he knows what it will really be like yet.) I'm nervous too, about them waking each other up. Any suggestions on how to make this work?

So I guess you could say that I'm thankful for the new great crib, and that I'm not pregnant and sick this year for the holidays!!!!

Mr. Blue Eyes

Alex is now 3 months old. Time Flies!!! He is getting so big, and has the biggest, bluest eyes, I think he gets cuter every day!

Izac Says

Lately Izac has been talking my ear off about subjects hes interested in at the moment. So the other morning he was babbling about dinosaurs, and how there's a place like a zoo and if we just take the paff(path) to get there we could pet them and all the other animals, and then he told me he was gonna tell dad, and went on to explain the whole thing again, and told me that all we have to do is look for their pootfrints(footprints). I found the whole conversation quite amusing.

Then on Monday we were going over to Justin's Grandpa's house who recently passed away, to get some things and to see it for one last time. I was telling Izac this and told him it was the last time we could go there. He then told me that he just wanted that old grandpa to come home. I was explaining the best I could that he lives with Jesus now and that we'd see him again, but in a long time. Izac looked at me all serious and said, "but mom, he could just give Jesus a hug and a kiss and come back to his home. He has such a tender heart and sweetness about him.

So since I can't post without a picture, I took some pictures of some things in the house that I think are interesting, or that I just like.

This is the front door, and I think it's so cool how it has the screen built right in, you just open the small door inside the big door. Totally convenient.

The totally retro oven/stove, with two ovens, and I just love the dials on that old thing.

The "dinner dials"

Then there's the magic toothbrush holder. It disappears into the wall.

I think if I could have I would have taken these things. And if they ever get rid of that door I seriously want it!!!

H-A double L-O-W double E-N spells Halloween!

So as an ode to our new baby, the 4th and final pumpkin Justin carved was our baby, in his car seat. Oh that Justin and the things he comes up with to carve every year. It's so exciting to see what he ends up doing! He loves to carve,I think as much as I don't like to, so he did all of these.

Here's our family on the porch on our way to Trick-or-Treat!
Kylee & Auri, Jenn & Kate, and Me & Alex, and Izac. At our soup party before trick or treating.
Izac the Kangaroo, with a punch mustache
Izac kangaroo, holding Auri ladybug, so darn cute!!!
