Family fun in So. Cal

Well the posts are few and far between this year, suppose it has become a joint effort so I will attempt to do my part with this one. Last month we had the chance to head down for a cheap hotel stay and good times on the beach with Kerrah's family from St. George and sister's family that live in the Fullerton/Brea, CA area. It's a convenient excuse to make the drive down and stay in southern UT on the way to break up the trip.

The weather happened to be cool enough to to consider visiting a theme park in addition to other more economical activities we had already planned. Hard to argue with being able to take the whole family to Knott's and also do lunch for just over $100 ( not including treats or souvenirs of course), but definitely a great way to spend a day. Can't pass up the opportunity as well to let IZ indulge in the whole Western/ghost town area there since it's right up his alley, not to mention the life size steam engine train they have to take you around a portion of the park that Alex was completely enamored with.

Enjoying a few kiddie rides in Camp Snoopy

Met up with a few of Izac's pals

In IZ's words, this is simply how cowboys pose in the "Old West"

Can't get enough of the trains, too bad Thomas and Friends don't hang out here too...

The thrilling ride in a passenger car

Thank goodness Grandma loves these guys so that the rest of us could get some real rides in

Wouldn't be complete without a ride on the carousel with your gun in the air!

For some reason Izac didn't seem to want to join me on this one...

After a hard day at Knott's Berry having fun it was time for a little R&R at the beach. We decided to spend some time one of the days at a beach park in Laguna, and the other day close to Balboa Pier...which of course is always a good reason to visit The Crab Cooker for lunch as well.

Can't wait for some crab claws!

Grandma and Grandpa decided to join us for some good eats

Laguna beach...way better than Lagoon-a-beach in UT

The (sand) grain mile

Specking out a good wave to attack

Anything with wheels will do...

Any kind of animal will do...

Beach buddies

Time for some dinner

Sisterly love

sand...EVERY-where

Dad can't resist, he likes the water too

Wouldn't mind finding ourselves back here often

We also celebrated a couple birthdays while we were down there for Alex and our niece Eden, no better way to spend your special day!

Ready for more fun yet?

Love this Birthday boy

A little B-day dinner

Don't forget dessert!

What else would you expect?? Thomas of course...

Eden got through her first year with many more to come

All that partying can really wear you out, good thing there's plenty of room to get some rest!

As a bonus, we also had a chance to visit the Allreds on our way back through Vegas

Well, we had some good fun & maybe we'll manage to post about something else we might have done this summer before the end of the year!! I won't hold my breath though...
