Hawaii Day 6

It was a beautiful, clear day, the water was so brilliant and beautiful, although it was much hotter, because of the sun beating down. I think this is the day that I got my "killer tan", the rest of the time was just prepping for it. We went to our usual for breakfast and took yet some more pics at Laie Point, it was hard not to, it was the most clear, sunny day we had gotten (we weren't that mad about the weather, but some locals thought we had picked out a crappy week to come there, is there a crappy week in Hawaii??? I'd like to see it) Now we were seeing why they were saying that! Sorry for more pictures here, but you can see why!

We drove north again, to do the things we saw when we drove up there before, to do some things we had missed out on and wanted to do.

Our first stop was Sharks Cove. A fun place to snorkel (for Justin), while I checked out the tide pools. There was plenty in there for me to see.

This was Justin's all time favorite thing on the whole trip. He did some gnarly jumps(dives), and got some lovely bruises. I sat on the beautiful beach watched, took the pictures, and read.

We loved this sign, probably a religious surfers dream! We visited the Dole Plantation, only long enough to get a pineapple whip!Then we drove into Haleiwa to get some goods that we saw but didn't buy before, and since the trip was soon ending we still had some $ to burn!

We ate at a yummy place called Breakers, and then walked over to get, what else, a shave ice! This lovely concoction was called the pineapple bowl. It had pineapple ice cream on the bottom, pineapple all around it, pineapple shave ice, sweet(sweetened condensed milk)cream, and whip cream on top. YUM!It wasn't the best we had in Hawaii, but it was darn good!

On the way back we stopped and took a picture of the temple, which was undergoing renovations. Had it been open, we probably would have tried to do a session.

Before heading back to our place we headed a little bit south to the Mac Nut Farm Outlet. Had we gotten there earlier, we would have taken their tour, which we hear is totally worth the $15. The tour bus, that we didn't go on!

However, when we were walking out of the shop, we met a man who runs the gardens and plant/flower nursery there. We talked with him for a while, and he gave us a tour of the mac nut tree, told us about his family, showed us a picture of his beautiful daughter(on the front of a calendar, miss Hawaiian Tropic). Then we exchanged contact info with him, we now have a e-mail pal in Hawaii. The nursery he and his wife run is a part of the Kualoa Ranch, which we'll visit our next time there.

That concludes this wonderful day, the next post will be the last Hawaii post, I have mixed feelings about it. Sick of blogging, but keeping the memories fresh!

Hawaii- Day 5

Was a day where we realized our trip was coming to an end, so of course on the way to breakfast at Papa Ole's (our favorite!), we had to stop at Laie Point again, because it's so convenient to get to, and on the way to the restaurant. So here we are again at these same places. Since we wanted to be at the PCC between noon and 1, we ate breakfast and then went back and hung out at our place until lunch. The beach in front of our condo was one of my favorite places to be so it was GREAT!

I don't know if I've mentioned, but the condo was beautiful, the owner had done some beautiful decorating, and updating. We didn't spend a whole lot of time hanging out inside, but it was fabulous when we were there. The other great thing was that she had all the things we needed for a day at the beach; beach chairs, 2 snorkel sets, 2 beach umbrellas, coolers, ice packs, a beach blanket(mat sort of thingy), beach towels. Seriously so nice to already have those things provided. She also had tons of books, CDs, DVDs, fans, AC, fridge, washer & dryer, hair dryer- so convenient!!!

This was our sweet ride. Not so sweet, but awesome to have a convertible. It played a big role in the great time we had so I had to have a picture of it. Breakfast at none other than Papa Ole'sWhen we got back from breakfast and into our swimsuits, Justin started taking pictures of me, so I kindly returned the favor.(I'm just glad he loves me and thinks I'm cute no matter if I have a flabby baby belly)Those flowers behind me are the ones we bought on the first day.This is the view out the front door of the condo.

On the way to the PCC, we stopped at a fruit stand and Yoshimura's shrimp truck for lunch. It was so yummy, we wish we would have discovered it earlier in the trip. The cute owner came out and talked to us, and told us he is a member of the church, and we had a nice little chat with him.

After the PCC we got a shave ice at Angel's in Laie. I got a massive headache after that so we went home and called it a night. (even though it was late by then anyway)

We drove South to Hanauma Bay

This is what we had for breakfast, so yummy. I loved the coconut custard filled one.

(if you don't know what a Malasada is , it's a hot fresh donut without a hole)

After Hanauma, we drove up to Waikiki, and went to the International Marketplace. We had lunch there at Choi's Kitchen, that was recommended by some friends of ours.

Until we got there and saw the sign, I thought we were going to Choice Kitchen

(the person who took a picture of us together in front of the marketplace sign did a terrible job, and didn't even get the sign in the pic.)
(Also please keep in mind that we had snorkeled, drove to Waikiki, & changed in the car(no shower). I hated what I took to wear, and slicked back hair is not good for me! I'm not sure about this shirt either, but Justin likes it for some reason?)

Dinner at the Shorebird, in the Outrigger Reef Hotel. It was good, but you cook your own meat on a giant grill, it was HOT! I like to go to restaurants to have someone cook for me. Justin bought me this Lei, from some kids who were selling them on the beach, I loved it! Also our camera ran out of juice right after this picture, so we have no pictures of the awesome view, beautiful restaurant, or the two of us here.

After this we walked to the car, on the street, past all the shops and stores. Then drove back to our place at Punalu'u

Hawaii-day 3

Wednesday, May 27

We woke up and headed to Honolulu, to the Aloha Stadium swap meet.

After the swap meet we drove over to Pearl Harbor, and went to the USS Arizona memorial. It was an interesting and humbling experience. The grounds around the museum are also under construction so it wasn't quite the experience it could have been. We didn't stay there long.

After Pearl Harbor we took a drive called the Tantalus loop. It is a steep, narrow, winding road above Honolulu with amazing views, and a fun drive in the jungle!

I'm sorry if this seems to be dragging on forever. I have to post about each day we were there, or there would be one ginormous post, and I don't want to just do a slide show. Also I'm posting these for my future (journaling) reference, so sorry, there are just too many pictures to leave out (and I'm actually leaving out quite a bit as it is).
